The Healing Power of Music

Bring Back The Music Launches Inclusive Performing Arts Training and Mentoring Program for Youth and Young Adults with Developmental Delays

Bring Back The Music (BBTM) is proud to announce the launch of its newest initiative: a comprehensive performing arts training and mentoring program designed specifically for youth and young adults who are mild to moderately developmentally delayed. This innovative program combines music education, performance training, and individualized mentorship to create a supportive, engaging, and empowering environment for participants to explore their talents and grow as artists—and as individuals.

Recognizing the transformative power of music and the performing arts, BBTM has developed a curriculum that emphasizes creativity, self-expression, and skill development while addressing the unique needs of each participant. The program integrates instruction in voice, percussion, piano, bass guitar, and music production, alongside opportunities for participants to collaborate, compose, and perform. Through small group sessions, one-on-one mentoring, and structured performance opportunities, participants will gain confidence, develop new skills, and experience the joy of making music in a safe, welcoming space.

This new program reflects BBTM’s commitment to inclusivity and community impact. By providing tailored support, our teaching artists help participants overcome challenges, build meaningful social connections, and develop critical life skills such as focus, teamwork, and self-advocacy. Each session is designed to celebrate individual strengths while encouraging collective growth, creating a sense of belonging and accomplishment for all involved.

Research consistently demonstrates that participation in the arts can enhance cognitive development, improve emotional well-being, and foster social integration for individuals with developmental delays. With this program, BBTM seeks not only to provide quality arts education but also to contribute to the long-term success and independence of its participants.

Classes may meet twice a week at BBTM’s fully equipped training facility or at your facility or adult day care center. We provide a vibrant, accessible environment where creativity can flourish. As participants progress, they will have the opportunity to showcase their work through community performances, highlighting their achievements and reinforcing the value of inclusivity in the arts.

Bring Back The Music believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the healing, unifying, and transformative power of music. With this new performing arts training and mentoring program, we are taking a vital step toward ensuring that youth and young adults with developmental delays can reach their fullest potential—on stage and beyond.
